Colour & Weave by Jacqueline James
Colour & Weave is a beautiful array of contemporary stylish rugs and wall hangings designed with excellent taste and sense of color and skillfully hand woven by Jacqueline James, an award-winning textile artist.
I had a great pleasure to meet Jacqueline at Knitting and Stitching Show. She creates amazing unique woven rugs and wall hangings using variety of new and heritage rug weaving techniques. If you are in London this weekend, you will have a chance to see her works on MADE London 24 -27 October 2019.
I fell in love with vivid color palette, elegant geometric patterns, and unusual smooth color gradients. To achieve that she uses designer yarns that have been dip dyed before weaving.
Jacqueline told me that she takes her inspiration from nature, architecture, vintage patterns and textiles, landscapes, and art. Each work takes from 3 to 6 weeks to finish.
For her works Jacqueline uses natural materials such as wool, cotton and linen. She blends strands of yarn together to achieve variety of different hues.
Jacqueline collaborates with private collectors and designers to create bespoke commissions. Her works found their way to many private collections in the UK, North America and EU. Major public commissions include weaving for Westminster Abbey, York Minster and the British Library.

Here is a set of cards I’ve got as a present from Jacqueline:
