Encyclopedia of Imaginary Women
I was very happy to meet Galla Grotto at EPM 2019, a celebrated artist and designer of Russian origin. For many years she has been living and creating in France and has done numerous exhibitions in Europe and Russia.
Galla is very versatile artist working with variety of different techniques. She does paintings, drawings, pastels, graphics, collages, textile artworks, jewelry and even furniture. She likes to mix and match her media to achieve fascinating results.
Apart of her numerous talents, for many years Galla has been skilled seamstress and enjoyed sewing outfits for herself and her family as well as creating artistic textile projects.
Encyclopedia of Imaginary Women is a name of Galla’s series of women portraits exhibited on EPM 2019 at France.
Main subjects and sources of inspiration of Galla’s art have been mythology and women.
She decided to choose another media for her collection than traditional for painters acryl or oil and use fabrics instead to bring warmth and gentleness of the media to her portraits.
The big eyes full of emotions and feelings that talk to a viewer articulating the message of an artist.
Please visit Galla’s web page and Facebook to see all pieces from the collection and many more of her other wonderful works.
