Wil Fritsma is a textile artist and teacher from Netherlands. Her latest collection Different Women struck me as one of the most special gems of the Prague Patchwork Meeting 2019. So innovative and modern but still featuring classical and almost antique elegance.

Wil got inspired by a woman statue she had seen the other day and began looking for a shape for her new series. After some experimenting the beautiful poetic outline has been found.

There is the first piece of the series that was a beginning of a long and rewording creative process.

The author combines many various techniques in her projects: traditional (such as machine an hand sewing or quilting) and experimental ones (such as heating and melting fabric with soldering tool). The results are amazing and truly unique masterpieces.
