Working on new Halloween designs
Hi there! Long time no see!
Autumn is coming and Halloween night is closer that it may seem. Anyway, it’s never too early to make gorgeous costumes for Halloween night or start thinking about decorating the house for a party.
…Or to create one or two collections of Halloween embroidery designs!
I’ve started my work on a new collection with brainstorming and wrote down some words associated with Halloween. Here is the list:
- Pumpkin
- Jack O’Lantern
- Witch
- Spider
- Spiderweb
- Ghost
- Black cat
- Bat
- Cauldron
- Owl
- Moon
- Scull
- Bones and skeletons
- Broom
- Witch’s hat
- Witch’s shoes
- Haunted house
- Voodoo doll
And here are colors that may fit the designs: black, orange, yellow, violet, purple, green, silver.
As for possible uses, that’s the list I’ve came up with:
- Halloween apparel
- Coasters
- Stuffed décor
- Quilts
- Banners
- Pillows and other home décor
- Bags
- Cards
Then I’ve started to draw. I wanted to make my designs visually pleasing but also a bit scary. Not cute collection for kids, but something cool, suitable for denim jacket, leather bag or elegant party decor. So let me show you an artwork for one of my new spooktacular Halloween collection that i came up with. There will be nine designs, all simple, clean, some of them pretty creepy I think.
And I even started with digitizing. The first version of the eagle is done already, still needs to be tested and reviewed though.
And here is my draft of embroidery sequence for another creepy guy:
I’m going to finish digitizing within the next week and proceed with preparing some instructions, writing descriptions, and other additional stuff that should be done before the collection appears in the shop.
That’s it for today. Thanks for joining me! See you around 😊
