Working on a snowmen collection
Hi there!
Upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Eve (with all the presents) have inspired me to create my new snowman collection. I wanted it to be simple, light, quick to stitch and have this traditional feel of redwork and hand embroidery.
Initially, I intended to create some embroidery designs for Christmas-themed quilts and wall hangings, but now I see that they would be just as beautiful on garments for kids, bags for presents, maybe some banners, and quilted pillows. When creating embroidery, one always needs to keep in mind that often drawings should be adjusted to make the finished design look better as well as process of embroidery quicker and easier. That’s why I changed faces of snowmen to embroidery as much as possible without jumps or with as few jumps as possible.
I’m already a halfway though, but 5 snowmen yet need to be finished. I love how they are turning out and can’t wait to make my red and white winter wall hanging quilt with them!
Also, I’ve finished working on another collection – some winter arrangements and things that “make the season shine” and a set of petite red work designs that complements both collections and may work as embroidery for cornerstones and small projects (such as ornaments, handkerchiefs, etc).
That’s all for today! Take care and be creative!
Yours truly,
Jo
